GCA Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that has been providing basic food support to families in Grayson County for over 22 years. Our services include a food pantry, free tax preparation service, the BackPack Food Program for children, and classes to improve financial literacy and nutrition knowledge.
We strive to achieve food security, encourage financial independence, and nurture healthy families through educational programming, mentoring, and community engagement.
We are proud to offer a range of services to support the local community. In addition to the food pantry, we offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), the BackPack Food Program which ensures children receive food over the weekends, and classes to improve financial literacy and nutrition knowledge. The aim of these programs is to provide a variety of resources to those in need, and to help improve the overall wellbeing of the community.
Due to the ongoing challenges brought on by the post-COVID economy, we have seen an increase in requests for our services. We have taken all necessary precautions to maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Our food pantry is open 8-10 days per month, by appointment only. Clients can visit us once a month to receive commodity food support, and application forms can be downloaded from our website or filled out over the phone.
